Temp: Home Instruction Portfolio Reviewer

JOB SUMMARY
Meets with parents virtually and/or in-person to review and evaluate home instruction portfolios to ensure regular, thorough instruction in compliance with Home Instruction COMAR 13A.10.01.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes written records of Portfolio Reviews via an electronic form (Home Instruction Program Review Form).
- Confers with parents and students regarding student engagement in regular, thorough instruction.
- Recommends strategies to assist families with documenting regular, thorough instruction in the required subject areas.
- Identifies and report to Manager deficiencies and noncompliance issues (as related to Home Instruction COMAR).
- Adheres to Board of Education Regulations regarding AACPS-issued electronics to include charging and maintaining assigned electronic equipment to be used during Home Instruction Reviews.
- Attends bi-annual training hosted by The Office of Home Instruction.
- Provides schedule availability for Review Sessions to Manager in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
Experience
- Three (3) years in Education, classroom experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of Home Instruction COMAR 13A.10.01.
- Ability to speak and write effectively.
- Ability to deal effectively with students, colleagues and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with scope and sequence of typical school curricula.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
- Hold or be eligible for Driver's License (DL) Class A Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV) required.
- Daily access to reliable transportation.
