Position Summary         

Is this position exempt from overtime pay?

No

Performs computer setup and configuration, hardware and software troubleshooting, following inventory procedures, repairing chromebooks, wiring carts and delivery of technology related supplies.  This work involves daily, weekly, and monthly technical responsibilities relating to the efficient and optimal operation of technology equipment.  All school-based duties will have a technology related focus. .

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?

No

1.        Configures, repairs, and delivers chromebooks.

2.        Maintains wiring carts for laptops and chromebooks.

3.        Travels throughout the county to deliver various technology equipment to schools.

4.       Performs setting up and dismantling of technology labs.

5.       Install/uninstall, configure upgrade, troubleshoot, test, diagnose, and load district approved desktop/laptop software following district established procedures.

6.       Performs established procedures and tasks related to the opening (fall) and closing (summer) of assigned schools.

7.       Responsible for the use, care and maintenance of all issued equipment according to district policy and technology guidelines.

8.       Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

·     High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate.

 

Experience

·     Two years of experience working with Computer/Networks, Software Applications, Customer Service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position..

·     Demonstrated ability to speak and write effectively.

·     Maintains a polite, courteous and respectful rapport and communications with students, school visitors and AACPS employees.

·     Ability to maintain a neat and organized workspace.

·     Willingness to learn new technology skills.

·     Ability to maintain attention to detail on assignments and meet inflexible deadlines. 

·     Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment in the timely execution of assigned responsibilities.

·     Demonstrated ability to make necessary preparations and relocate technology equipment within the time constraints established by TSS and without assistance (relocate a standard computer lab).

·     Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).

 

Licenses/Certifications

·     Possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and have daily access to reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

 

·     Ability to perform extensive walking, standing, carrying, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and lifting and the ability to exert force required to twist/turn equipment tools required to perform assigned tasks.

·     Ability to move, and position self to move in, under, over or through equipment, and work in confined spaces.

·     Ability to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds (e.g. computer, printer, monitor, etc.).
