JOB SUMMARY
Collaborates with students, parents and other agencies to address student success and academic achievement. After the school-based intervention has been implemented, and additional assistance is still needed the case may be referred to the Pupil Personnel Worker. Duties include working with school personnel to improve student attendance by making referrals to Juvenile Justice, the State's Attorney's Office and processing cases to District Court. Contacts community agencies, consults with school personnel, and makes home visits. Assists schools to investigate residency, answers questions related to custody, and assists with enrollment of kinship, hardship and homeless students. Other duties may include working with Section 504, monitoring students enrolled under special circumstances, and assisting caregivers to access resources.
